Islamabad, 6 August 2019: Executive Director FIMA and ex-President PIMA, Prof Hafeezur Rahman made a 4-day visit to Hargeisa, Somaliland and participated in different conferences and meetings with health professionals.
He conducted a 3 day workshop on “Concept and Implementation of Islamic Hospital” in Hargeisa. Seventy doctors, nurses and administrators participated. They were from different parts of Somaliland and Somalia and represented 10 different hospitals.
Another talk on Professionalism and Ethics was delivered in University of Hargeisa, attended by young doctors and senior students.
He visited Gollis University – Hargeisa, medical and Dental faculty of Amoud University in Borama, Makkah Eye Hospital-Borama and had a meeting with president, Dean of Medicine and Dean of Dentistry respectively. Makkah Eye Hospital was established by Ex DO Student Mohammad Usman, the only eye care facility in this city.
Prof Sadia Haroon, who accompanied Prof Hafeez, taught a module of Biochemistry to 2nd year students of Hargeisa University. This was a 16 hours teaching over 4 days.
