PIMA Central Team Completes 3-Day Organizational Visit to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The central leadership of the Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA), led by President Prof. Atif Hafeez Siddiqui, undertook a 3-day visit to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with activities spread across Hazara Division, Timergara, Swat, Buner, Mardan, and Peshawar. The delegation included Vice President Prof. Muhammad Tayyab and General Secretary Dr. Ahmad Salman Ghauri, accompanied by PIMA KPK President Dr. Muhammad Asghar Khan and General Secretary Dr. Basir Ullah.

The purpose of the visit was to strengthen coordination with local PIMA chapters, assess ongoing Dawah, Tarbiah, and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities, and support organizational development across the province. The central team received briefings on local initiatives, including advocacy for doctors’ rights and updates on membership records.

The visit began in Haripur with a breakfast meeting focused on organizational matters. In Mansehra, the team visited PIMA Hospital, followed by a meeting with local members to discuss hospital progress and chapter affairs. Later in Abbottabad, a dinner gathering was held with local members, during which the organizing team of the Provincial Convention was given special recognition for their efforts.

On the second day, the delegation visited Timergara and Swat units. In Timergara, the team was briefed on the regular Dawah and CME activities carried out by the local unit. In Swat, a well-attended members’ meeting took place, where the chapter presented a detailed report of its ongoing programs and initiatives.

Addressing the members, Prof. Atif Hafeez Siddiqui emphasized the importance of consistent Dawah work, the initiation of Quran Fehmi sessions, and continued professional development. He reiterated PIMA’s central role in promoting medical ethics and urged members to serve as role models within their communities.

On the final day, the PIMA Central Team visited Buner, Mardan, and Peshawar. In Buner, a members’ meeting was held at Buner General Hospital, followed by a visit to Aghosh Buner. Discussions centered on improving coordination and strengthening organizational performance.

In Mardan, a meeting was held with local members where key issues were discussed, including the need for continuity in activities, the development of a coordinated reporting system, and scheduling of interactive CME sessions in accordance with the central CME calendar.

In Peshawar, the final session was held at Kuwait Teaching Hospital, featuring a thought-provoking Qur’anic talk by Maulana Shams-ul-Haq Hanif, who spoke on the past, present, and future of the Muslim Ummah and the importance of unity. Dr. Daniyal Ahmad, President of PIMA Peshawar, presented a six-month progress report of the chapter’s activities.

In his concluding address, Prof. Dr. Atif Hafeez Siddiqui provided comprehensive guidance on PIMA’s objectives, departmental initiatives, organizational mission, and the challenges currently faced. He encouraged members to remain committed to PIMA’s vision and continue serving the community with sincerity and dedication.
