An earthquake which was the mother of all earthauakes in the last 100 years had his Pakistan really hard on October 8th, 2005. The magnitude od its distraction was so large that many hands and hearts had to come forward for help. Azad Kashmir’s main cities, Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Rawalakot, and KPK (NWFP) main cities Balakot, Abbotabad, Mansehra and others were torn down. Most urgent and asked for assistance was of medical aid that was provided with religious zeal and faithful vigor by PIMA to the victims.
- PIMA established field hospitals and clinics at Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Mansehta and Balakot
- More than 449,582 patients were examined
- A total of 36,165 surgeries were performed
- Hundreds of doctors and paramedical staff from Pakistan and outside served in PIMA filed hospitals
- 60 houses were provided to the affected doctors
- Cash of 1 million PKR also distributed to the most deserving doctors and their families.
PIMA Al Khidmat Al Hajri Hospital in Muaffarabad This hospital has 50 beds at the present and has capacity to have 70 patients. PIMA acknowledges generous support of Mr.Yusuf Al Hajri for this hospital. The facility has sate of the art equipment and is designed to become a tertiary level health care facility. Egyptian Medical Syndicate very kindly provided 13.5 million PKR for procuring surgical equipments. A total of 24.70 Million Pak Rupees have been invested on the hospital.
