In all actions, endeavors, plans and intentions, the faithful\u2019s (\u0627\u0644\u0645\u0624\u0645\u0646) life and conduct are based on the principle of (\u0635\u062f\u0642): Being truthful. <\/span><\/p>\nThe Qura\u2019nic verse (\u0627\u062a\u0642\u0648\u0627 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0648\u0643\u0648\u0646\u0648\u0627 \u0645\u0639 \u0627\u0644\u0635\u0627\u062f\u0642\u064a\u0646 )<\/span><\/p>\nYou who believe!<\/span><\/p>\nFear Allah <\/span><\/p>\nAnd be (committed) with those who are true (in word and deed). <\/span><\/p>\nBe truthful, commit yourselves with truthfulness. <\/span><\/p>\nBe among the truthful people: <\/span><\/p>\nA complete, holistic commitment of the believers to Truthfulness (\u0627\u0644\u0635\u062f\u0642), in all walks of life: All Deeds, behavior, endeavors and intentions. <\/span><\/p>\nThis verse is number 119 of Surat Al-Tauba (\u0633\u0648\u0631\u0629 \u0627\u0644\u062a\u0648\u0628\u0629)<\/span><\/p>\nThis whole Surah was revealed to the Prophet (SAW), and acquired special significance, in grim circumstances of the Muslim Society, in Medina, under the leadership of prophet Mohummad (SAW) on the 9th<\/sup> year of Hijrah, when he was gearing the difficult preparations to lead the Muslims in the campaign (\u063a\u0632\u0648\u0629) of Tabuk, 600 kilometers north of Medinah. Tabuk at that time was dominated by the Roman Empire (\u0627\u0644\u0631\u0648\u0645), through their local small Arab subordinates. <\/span><\/p>\nReading carefully and objectively through the verses of this surah, <\/span><\/p>\nAnd: Reading through authenticated (\u0631\u0648\u0627\u064a\u0627\u062a) narrations regarding the causes and circumstances of revelation of this Surah, <\/span><\/p>\nAnd: Studying the Prophetic Sirah in that particular stage, we realize that: This Surah has a special character (\u0634\u062e\u0635\u064a\u0629): <\/span><\/p>\n\n- The Surah contained distinct verdicts (\u0623\u062d\u0643\u0627\u0645\u0627\u064b), in deciding the functional relationship between the Muslim Ummah, and the other nations and groups on this Earth. <\/span><\/li>\n
- Furthermore, this Surah classified the Muslim Society itself: With pinpointing of its values and its segments or classes, with the status of every segment or class within the Muslim Society. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
All these descriptions and characterizations were portrayed with great precision and significance. <\/span><\/p>\n\n- The Surah also clarified and characterized the nature of the Islamic dynamic approach (\u0627\u0644\u0645\u0646\u0647\u062c \u0627\u0644\u062d\u0631\u0643\u064a). <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
v<\/span>With its various stages and steps. <\/span><\/p>\nv<\/span>With its flexibility, and distinctive effectiveness at the same time!. <\/span><\/p>\nv<\/span>With the whole characteristics of the Muslim Society at the time of the 9th<\/sup> year of Hijrah. <\/span><\/p>\n\u00a0A<\/span>ll this, in distinct difference with the earlier Muslim Society, at the time of early Hijrah from Makkah to Madinah, with the brotherhood between Muhajireen and Ansar, that culminated in the cohesive, solid, unified society that achived the great victories of Badr and Uhod\u2026 The society that followed after the Fath<\/em>: (the conquest of Makkah)\u2026Now the society has become an inhomogeneous mixture of groups, classess, segments, with variable levels of commitment in Iman \u2026 A great mixture and Mosaic and ratification that is portrayed in this Surah, as we learn from its various Ayat (verses): <\/span><\/p>\n“\u0648\u0627\u0644\u0633\u0627\u0628\u0642\u0648\u0646 \u0627\u0644\u0623\u0648\u0644\u0648\u0646 \u0645\u0646 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0647\u0627\u062c\u0631\u064a\u0646 \u0648\u0627\u0644\u0623\u0646\u0635\u0627\u0631 \u0648\u0627\u0644\u0630\u064a\u0646 \u0627\u062a\u0628\u0639\u0648\u0647\u0645 \u0628\u0625\u062d\u0633\u0627\u0646 \u0631\u0636\u064a \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0639\u0646\u0647\u0645 \u0648\u0631\u0636\u0648\u0627 \u0639\u0646\u0647….”<\/span><\/p>\nThe vanguard (of Islam, the first of those who forsook \u201ctheir homes\u201d, and of those who gave them aid\u2026) 9:100<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n” \u0627\u0644\u0623\u0639\u0631\u0627\u0628 \u0623\u0634\u062f \u0643\u0641\u0631\u0627\u064b \u0648\u0646\u0641\u0627\u0642\u0627\u064b”<\/span><\/p>\nThe Aarab (Arabs of the desert) are the worst in unbelief and hypocrisy. 9:97<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n” \u0648\u0645\u0645\u0646 \u062d\u0648\u0644\u0643\u0645 \u0645\u0646 \u0627\u0644\u0623\u0639\u0631\u0627\u0628 \u0645\u0646\u0627\u0642\u0648\u0646 \u0648\u0645\u0646 \u0623\u0647\u0644 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u062f\u064a\u0646\u0629 \u0645\u0631\u062f\u0648\u0627 \u0639\u0644\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0646\u0641\u0627\u0642 \u0644\u0627 \u062a\u0639\u0644\u0645\u0647\u0645 \u0646\u062d\u0646 \u0646\u0639\u0644\u0645\u0647\u0645 ….”<\/span><\/p>\nCertain of the desert Arabs Round about you or hypocrites, as well as among the Medina folk: they are obstinate in hypocrisy\u2026 9:101<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n“…. \u0648\u0623\u062e\u0631\u0648\u0646 \u0627\u0639\u062a\u0631\u0641\u0648\u0627 \u0628\u0630\u0646\u0648\u0628\u0647\u0645 \u062e\u0644\u0637\u0648\u0627 \u0639\u0645\u0644\u0627\u064b \u0635\u0627\u0644\u062d\u0627\u064b \u0648\u0622\u062e\u0631 \u0633\u064a\u0626\u0627\u064b …”<\/span><\/p>\nOthers have acknowledged their wrong-doings: They have mixted an act of that was good with another that was evil\u2026.9:102<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n” \u0648\u0622\u062e\u0631\u0648\u0646 \u0645\u0631\u062c\u064e\u0648\u0646 \u0644\u0623\u0645\u0631 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0625\u0645\u0627 \u064a\u0639\u0630\u0628\u0647\u0645 \u0648\u0625\u0645\u0627 \u064a\u062a\u0648\u0628 \u0639\u0644\u064a\u0647\u0645 ….”<\/span><\/p>\nThere are (yet) others, Held in suspense for the command of Allah, whether He will Punish them or turn in mercy. 9:106<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n“… \u0648\u0627\u0644\u0630\u064a\u0646 \u0627\u062a\u062e\u0630\u0648\u0627 \u0645\u0633\u062c\u062f\u0627\u064b \u0636\u0631\u0627\u0631\u0627\u064b \u0648\u0643\u0641\u0631\u0627\u064b \u0648\u062a\u0641\u0631\u064a\u0642\u0627\u064b \u0628\u064a\u0646 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0624\u0645\u0646\u064a\u0646 ….”<\/span><\/p>\nAnd there are those who put up a Masjid by the way of mischief and infidelity, to disunite the believers\u2026 9:107<\/span><\/em><\/p>\nThe main segment of the Surah, is, in fact, that which elaborates on the status of the hypocrites in Madinah, their standings, intentions and styles of behaviors prior, during and after the campaign of Tabuk. <\/span><\/p>\nTheir behavior ranged from deliberate lack of support in joining the Prophet (SAW) and his companions who left Madinah in a northward drive towards Tabuk, amidst harsh deficiencies in manpower and material provision, and in fierse hot weather.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\nThis campaign of Tabuk has special significance in Sirah and history of the Islamic State: <\/span><\/p>\n\n- It was against the Roman Empire, the most powerful and dominant power on Earth at that time. With their Christian Arab subordinates and tribes in the Northern regions of the Arabian Peninsula, the Romans were actively planning to invade the new emerging Muslim State in Madina. <\/span><\/li>\n
- This was one of the most stringent years in Madina and surroundings: <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
v<\/span>Extreme heat and drought. <\/span><\/p>\nv<\/span>Lack of supplies. <\/span><\/p>\nv<\/span>Lack of camels and horses \u2026 18 fighters had to alternate on one camel. <\/span><\/p>\nv<\/span>Long distance and rough, dry terrain with lack of water all the way to Tabuk. <\/span><\/p>\n\n- That is why it was called (\u062c\u064a\u0634 \u0627\u0644\u0639\u0633\u0631\u0629) the army of severe hardship. <\/span><\/li>\n
- This is the campaign where Abu Bakr ( R ) donated all what he had, and Omar (R) donate half of what he owned. <\/span><\/li>\n
- The hypocrits of Madina and surroundings were hoping and waiting for this Roman invasion. Moreover, they established links with the Romans and their subordinate Arab tribes. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
At that time, the hypocrites (\u0627\u0644\u0645\u0646\u0627\u0641\u0642\u0648\u0646) established Masjid Al-Dhirar. <\/span><\/p>\n\n- They were busy in spreading and propagation of rumors, weakness, suspicious, ( (\u0641\u062a\u0646\u0629, encouraging renegation, and splitting the lines in the Muslim community and Muslim command. <\/span><\/li>\n
- The Prophet (SAW) decided not to wait to be invaded by the Romans, and to move northward in a daring initiative, which was extremely successful: The Romans and their Arab subordinates disbursed their forces and withdrew from confrontation. The aims of the campaign were fulfilled without a fight! (\u0648\u0643\u0641\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0624\u0645\u0646\u064a\u0646 \u0627\u0644\u0642\u062a\u0627\u0644)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Most Arab tribes and small states abandoned Roman dominance, came to the Prophet (SAW) and became subordinates to the Islamic State!. <\/span><\/p>\nA<\/span>t the same time, verses of the Surah provide guidance to the solid, and pure Muslim community, around the Prophet (SAW) and his companions \u2026 to distinguish the solid pure core, with deep-seated faith in their hearts, solidarity, perseverance and steadfastedness in their resolve to follow the Prophet (SAW) and support his leadership in this campaign, which was unique in its many difficulties and handicaps: <\/span><\/p>\nFirst: Its timing: In the most hot and harsh months of the year. <\/span><\/p>\nThen comes the shortages of supplies of all sorts. <\/span><\/p>\nThen comes the human factor: A campaign that requires thousands of committed fighters \u2026 was confronted with only a small number of dedicated, committed Muslims around the Prophet (SWT), with widespread splits, renegation and deserting at dire times of need.<\/span><\/p>\nThis campaign in a viable illustration of the importance of proper building of the core group\u2026. On dedication, sacrifice, piety (Taqwa<\/em>) and perseverance in the way to please Allah (SWT) and seek His acceptance in this life and the Hereafter\u2026. <\/span><\/p>\nThis true approach in education of the Muslim society, surrounded by the blessing, guidance and support of Allah (SWT), is the real guarantee of all success and achievements. Take or select any current example of most Muslim countries: same map of classes and levels of commitments. <\/span><\/p>\nIsn\u2019t it the same devine guidance to the pure, solid core or base of the Muslim society in all times and at all locations? <\/span><\/p>\n****<\/span><\/p>\nIn our contemporary professional life and conduct as medical practitioners\u2026 How this devine guidance: to Be with the truthful core\u00a0\u00a0 (\u0643\u0648\u0646\u0648\u0627 \u0645\u0639 \u0627\u0644\u0635\u0627\u062f\u0642\u064a\u0646) apply to us?<\/span><\/p>\nThis is a unique profession that deals with the welfare, suffering, agony and death of the most honored and glorified creature on Earth\u2026.. The human being:<\/span><\/p>\n” \u0648\u0644\u0642\u062f \u0643\u0631\u0645\u0646\u0627 \u0628\u0646\u064a \u0622\u062f\u0645…”<\/span><\/p>\n\u201c \u2026And we honored the progeny of Adam\u2026.\u201d17:70<\/span><\/em><\/p>\nAs Imam Shafei described this profession: The most noble and dignified science, only second to the science of religion or Fiqh. <\/span><\/p>\nSince the early years of Islamic history and civilization, scholars in Jurisprudence (Fiqh<\/em>) have layed down the values and principle of proper medical professional conduct towards patients, society, professional colleagues, and advancement in knowledge. <\/span><\/p>\nOver the years, foundations of proper medical conduct have been addressed in various Muslim societies and at various times. <\/span><\/p>\nRecently, this medical Jurisprudence heritage has been condensed and organized in a comprehensive reference named: The International Islamic Code for Medical and Health Ethics, published by the Islamic Organization for Islamic Medical Studies (IOMS) in 2005, following over 25 years of deliberations and consultations between Shariah scholars and professionals in medical sciences. <\/span><\/p>\nFrom all these Jurisprudence (Fiqh<\/em>) literature and heritage, we conclude many Islamic ethical obligations for all of us to be classified within the category \u0648\u0643\u0648\u0646\u0648\u0627 \u0645\u0639 \u0627\u0644\u0635\u0627\u062f\u0642\u064a\u0646.<\/span><\/p>\nThe first principle is:<\/span><\/p>\nRespect for the human being, who, by inflictions of disease, pain and suffering, \u00a0is rendered to a patient that needs our care.<\/span><\/p>\n
