Under the Save Gaza Campaign, a protest sit-in was held for 6 hours at D-Chowk, Islamabad, on Sunday, in which a large number of doctors from twin cities, including PIMA’s General Secretary Dr. Iftikhar Burney, participated. Police erected barriers and resorted to baton charging to stop this protest, but despite this, the protest continued, and the participants held an iftar at the protest site with dates and water, saying that the people of Palestine were holding their iftar on debris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On this occasion, Senator (R) Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, Dr. Iftikhar Burney, and team lead of the Save Gaza Campaign, Humaira Tayyaba, delivered speeches and demanded actions from the Government of Pakistan to stop the ongoing Israeli atrocities and genocide in Gaza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PIMA Karachi also joined the demonstration at Karachi Press Club on the same day, led by senior officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A solidarity walk was organized by PIMA Peshawar at Khyber Teaching Hospital on April 5, 2024, to express support for our Palestinian brothers, particularly the medical staff. Dr. Basirullah, Vice President of PIMA Peshawar, addressed the attendees at this occasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On April 4th, nationwide protests were organized against the destruction of Al Shifa Hospital by the Israeli occupation. In Sukkur, the demonstration was led by the Central President of PIMA, Dr. Abdul Aziz Memon, with speakers including Dr. Ghayas Ushan and Dr. Ahmad Mujtaba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
