PIMA expresses deep sorrow and grief over the sad demise of Dr. Zakira Mastoor. Dr. Zakira was a founding member of PIMA and played a significant role in its early formation and the development of its constitutional and organizational framework. She served twice as the central president of the PIMA Women’s Wing during the 1989-1990 and 1996-1998 sessions. In addition, she held several other important positions, including Provincial President of Sindh, Incharge of Publication, Member of the Central Executive Council, Incharge of the Relief Department of Region 1, and Assistant in the Tarbiah Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She contributed to creating PIMA’s Code of Conduct and published a daily self-assessment form for PIMA members. She also published various stickers with verses and prayers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Zakira played an active role in relief activities as well. When the devastating earthquake struck Pakistan in 2005, she provided her services in every possible way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Even before the establishment of PIMA, during her student life at Nawabshah Medical College\/Peoples University of Medical and Health Sciences for Women, she started the work of Dawah with the objectives that later led to the formation of PIMA in 1979. She became active in PIMA from day one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
May Allah accept all her good deeds, elevate her status, grant her the best reward, and forgive her. PIMA shares the grief of her family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On June 20th, an online condolence reference was held in memory of Dr. Zakira Mastoor. The event paid tribute to her services by her family, colleagues from college, PIMA, and IJT. Dr. Nusrat initiated the session with her remarks. The speakers included Dr. Shakira Khalid, Dr. Kauser Firdous, Dr. Umme Kalsoom, Dr. Aziza Anjum, Mrs. Iqbal un Nisa, Mrs. Ayesha Wadood, Dr. Rizwana, Dr. Zareena Pathan, Dr. Shaista Adnan, Dr. Rakhshanda Irfan, Mrs. Nighat Wadood, Dr. Farhana Masood, and Dr. Javerya Saeed.
