Disaster Preparedness Workshop by PIMA Punjab

Faisalabad, 30 May 2016: A Disaster Preparedness Workshop was held by PIMA Punjab at Punjab Medical College Faisalabad Auditorium on 20th March 2017. The program started with Dars-e-Quran on ‘Islam & Relief Work’ by Dr. Muhammad Saleem Ghauri. Prof. Iqbal Khan, Vice Chancellor Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University gave an introduction to the subject and later on also talked on ‘Disaster associated Health Issues’, ‘Impact of Disasters on Healthcare Provider’ and ‘Safety of Healthcare Workers in Emergency situations’. Dr. Hameed Mumtaz Durrani, Assistant Professor Community Medicine Azad Kashmir Medical College MuzaffarAbad talked on ‘Hazards causing Disasters’, ‘Socio-Economic aspects of Emergency Response & Disaster Management’ and ‘Disaster Preparedness Measures’. A Hands-on  Group Work was arranged on ‘Setting up an Emergency Medical Post’. The team leader of every group presented the details of this group work. About 60 doctors including 10 lady doctors participated.
