Pre-convention workshops

Lahore, 22 March 2018: Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) is going to organize two-day 25th biennial international convention here at Aiwan-e-Iqbal from March 31. Preparations for the convention are underway.

The program of the convention will include thematic lectures by renowned scholars, state of the art presentations by experts in various medical disciplines, talk on medical ethics and character building and panel discussions on issues facing the profession, said a press release.

Five pre-convention workshops are concurrent sessions held on Friday, 30 March. The topics are including “Transfusion Medicine: hands on update techniques”, “Management of Hepatitis-C in the era of direct acting antivirals”, “Breast Cancer: challenges of the day”, “Childhood vaccination: benefits and future directions” and “Basics of laparoscopic surgery”. These workshops will held in Jinnah Hospital, Mayo Hospital, INMOL Hospital, Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute and Research Centre and Children Hospital & Institute of Child Health.

Prof Hafiz Ijaz Ahmad, Chairman organizing committee emphasized all doctors to attend this mega event as it is an important academic activity that will provide an opportunity to all medical professionals to get update from internationally renowned medical experts.
