On 7th October 2016 cleanliness awareness session was held in Village Islamabad Union Council Nahqi. The session consisted of nearly 20 participants of the above mentioned area along with the local elected councilor (). The elderly people of the area took a keen interest in the session provided by our team which is a new precedent for the goal we are trying to achieve. The session began with the introductory part of hygiene promoter Syed Zahid Ali which consisted of basic cleaning and hygiene related tips and common practices that are usually overlook by common population. That is to say that a lay man or woman in rural area of KP is quite unaware of the basic necessaries of keeping their habitat clean and worthy of healthy life. Therefor things like personal hygiene and child care were the basic focus of this part of the session.
Followed by Zahid was the second part of the session delivered by Mutiulhaq which was mainly based upon the Islamic significance of environmental cleanliness and personal hygiene,which is to say that how Islam is a religion compels its believers/followers to live a life of cleanliness and concerned about the environmental care. This part of the session was ignited quite a participative behavior of the participants and it was full of interactive exchanges between the speaker and the target community members. It is noteworthy that people were seemingly stimulated by the Islamic commandments on day to day life cleanliness and how Islam has declared cleanliness being equivalent to half of the spirit of Islam. On the Islamic part, we the team discussed all the aspects of human life related to hygiene. We started from the cleanliness of clothes to the cleanliness of body and food with especial emphasis on the preservation of surrounding environment. Quoting different verses from Quraan and Hadith all the aspects were put to the audience in a rational way, which was appreciated duly.
In both the demonstrations of the session the visual assistance was used by the speaker in the form of graphical charts to simply portray the message of cleanliness to a layman.
At the end of the session Sir Bismillah Jan exchanged views with the community members regarding the role of government and solving municipal problems and it was found out from the discussion that the government does not pay much heed to the rural areas in terms of financial and operational expenditures.
