PIMA calls for the medical regulatory body to be run professionally

PIMA press release, 22 November 2022: The Central Executive Council of Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) has expressed serious concerns over the repeated changes in the matters of the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC)/ Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).

“We demand the government to run this prestigious regulatory body professionally”.

This was stated in a resolution of the PIMA CEC meeting here on Tuesday.

The 2-day meeting was presided over by the newly elected president of PIMA Dr. Abdul Aziz Memon. 

The unanimous resolution said that the international Accreditation matter should be looked and sorted out on a priority basis.

The Medical Colleges Accreditation process must be transparent to uphold the quality of medical education in the country.

PIMA demanded that all stakeholders of the medical profession should be on board for any decisions.
