PIMA Announces Results of Provincial Leadership Elections

Islamabad, 10 January 2024: The electoral process for the provincial presidents of the Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) has been completed.
PIMA members, through secret balloting, elected presidents and executive council members in biennial provincial conventions.

According to the results, Dr. Asif Mahmood Khokhar was elected as the President for Central Punjab, Dr. Noor Hussain Malik for North Punjab, Dr. Hafiz Habib ur Rahman for South Punjab, Dr. Fakhar Alam for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr. Abdul Rasheed Wahab for Sindh, and Dr. Abdul Jabbar for Balochistan. Meanwhile, PIMA members in Azad Kashmir elected Dr. Muhammad Usman, and members in Gilgit-Baltistan elected Dr. Anayatullah Khan Tahir as their respective Presidents.

According to the central spokesperson of PIMA, these office heaters have been elected for a tenure of two years.
Provincial-level doctors’ conventions were held at Faisalabad Medical University/Punjab Medical College in Punjab on 7 May 2023, Isra Medical University Hyderabad in Sindh on 12-13 May 2023, Saidu Medical College Swat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 17-18 March 2023, Quetta Press Club in Balochistan on 20 August 2023, Rawalkot in Azad Kashmir on 11 June 2023, and Gilgit city in Gilgit Baltistan on 15 October 2023. Thousands of doctors participated in these events, contributing to the exchange of knowledge and advancements in medical practices.
