Here are the salient features of PIMA’s medical relief assistance to the people of Afghanistan in 2022:
- PIMA provided emergency medicines worth Rs. 55 million to ICUs and emergency wards of Rabia Balkhi Hospital, Muhammad Ali Jinnah Hospital, and Naib-ul-Amin Hospital in Kabul.
- An 8-day free eye camp was organized at Al-Noor Eye Hospital in Kabul.
- Renowned eye surgeons performed more than 600 surgeries during the camp.
- For the first time, oculoplastic and vitreoretinal surgeries were performed in Afghanistan.
- A special operation theater worth Rs. 3 crore was set up as part of the relief efforts.
- Technical training sessions were conducted for the hospital staff to enhance their skills and capabilities.
