PIMA medical relief activities in earthquake hit-areas

Islamabad, 26 September 2019: Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) has initiated medical relief activities in Mirpur, the worst earthquake effected district of Azad Kashmir.

A team of 4 doctors including surgeon, anesthetist, orthopedic and general physician from Islamabad reached at Mirpur on Thursday to participate in ongoing relief activities in effected areas. This team is led by Prof Muhammad Iqbal Khan; VC Tameer e Millat University Islamabad and incharge PIMA International Relief.

Medicines, surgical items and consumables worth Rs 2 Lac were also sent from Islamabad for carrying medical relief activities in earthquake hit areas.

President of PIMA Prof Muhammad Afzal Mian has expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of lives caused by the recent earthquake in Mirpur district. He also prayed to Almighty Allah to bless the martyred souls with eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved families to bear the irreparable losses. On the instructions of PIMA president, member doctors from Mirpur and other nearby areas providing their services, attending injured & sick persons and performing surgeries in District Headquarter Hospital and other medical centres from day one.
