Safe Obstetrics and Child Health Workshop in Islamabad

PIMA Women’s Wing launched a series of one-day Women’s Health Workshops across the country under the projects Safe Obstetrics and Child Health (SOCH) and Women Self-Care. This initiative is being carried out in collaboration with the Alkhidmat Health Foundation (AHF).

The first workshop of 2025 on Women’s Health was held at Alkhidmat Razi Hospital, Islamabad, on 12th January 2025. Following the recitation of the Holy Quran, Dr. Tahir Farooq, MD of Razi Hospital, delivered the opening address.

Dr. Rafia Shahid, Head of Gynecology at Razi Hospital Rawalpindi, gave a comprehensive talk on antenatal care, while Prof. Dr. Shumaila Sharif, Assistant Director of Maternal Health at AHF and Head of Gynecology at Railway Hospital, presented on Safe Delivery.

Dr. Naveed Butt, National Director of Child Health at AHF and Head of Pediatrics at Razi Hospital Rawalpindi, along with Dr. Qurat-ul-Ain Saqib, Incharge of NICU at Razi Hospital Rawalpindi, conducted hands-on training sessions on Neonatal Resuscitation and Breastfeeding.

A total of 20 participants, including gynecology and pediatrics consultants, medical officers, and paramedical staff, attended the workshop.

During the session, Dr. Zahid Latif, Chairman of Alkhidmat Health Foundation, addressed the participants online. The program concluded with closing remarks by Prof. Fahim Subhani, Assistant Director of Child Health at AHF, from Railway Hospital.
